A Note to the Parents

Though a School can do a lot for a child, it cannot do everything. The home is the place where he gets his first education and training. It is the chief place where his character is formed in citizenship. School education indeed promotes the growth, personality and helps to discover and develop the qualities that are in children. In order to secure all that is best in the education of your child, maximum co-operation between the parents and school authorities is necessary. The task of helping your children to become good citizens is done better through mutual partnership between the School and the parents.

The School desires to have your co-operation and your close contact with the respective teachers of your ward in order to develop an atmosphere that is conducive to better and more effective education.

We earnestly request the parents to look into this handbook-cum-diary every day and see to it that the lesson/s and the homework assigned for the next day are completed. The child should be encouraged to cultivate habitual cleanliness in all his work. The teacher will communicate with you through this handbook. Your prompt attention to those remarks is very essential.

Absence of your child from class for attending social function, parties, outings, marriages, etc. is discouraged because it retards the child’s progress and minimizes his respect for regular hard work. As far as possible, fix these events during holidays.

It is essential that the School be informed when the child is detained at home. Children who are ill should not be sent to attend class or to take tests, as the chances are that they will affect both health and studies. In case of illness, application for leave must reach the School without delay.

Children should do their home work by themselves. They should not be helped by you/ tutors unless they really need it. It is advisable not to have easy recourse to tuitions, unless according to your judgment, the child is very weak and lacks the basic knowledge of important subjects. It is important that children develop a habit of studying and working on their own.

Criticism of teacher should be avoided in the presence of the child because it undermines his respect for the teacher and the School. Should you have a complaint, meet the principal.

As your child advances in age, guide him to become a resourceful member of home and the Country. Encourage self-help for work and study. He should be taught to keep his room tidy, make his own bed, polish his own shoes, carry his own bag etc. The formation of such habits in life inculcates in him the ideas of work, and fundamental personal virtue which is necessary for a successful career in life.

You are requested to pay special attention to the personal cleanliness of your child. Kindly see that the child attends the school in neat and clean uniform.

Discipline and virtue are the hallmarks of Sacred Heart Public school. We expect that the students enstrusted to our care, will conduct themselves to the satisfaction of all concerned and leave the school after a successful career as God-fearing young men and women useful to themselves, their parents and the society. S.H. School students should at all times show respect to the school authorities and to the elders. The students’ behaviour should be gentlemanly at all times both inside and outside the school campus. Students should always be punctual and keep the class rooms and school premises clean. They should take care of the school property. Coming late to school/ class is considered a serious breach of discipline. Damage done to school property must be compensated. Students are not permitted to possess or use any electronic equipments in school campus.
